AI postal service system

Imagine have drones and robots delivering your parcel right on time every time you choose to use the postal service. All the time spent on figuring out where and when the parcel needs to be delivered, and what would be the best route to deliver them being shortened. This kind of AI parcel services system is what I would like to invent as an AI invention.

This might not be the most exciting invention, but I am sure this would be the most realistic and would be very beneficial to large portion of different people. This invention would be split into three main areas, one is to sort the parcels and mails, second is to calculate the most efficient route to deliver all the stuff, and the last one is to arrange suitable transportation for the delivery service. I think each part of the system would require AI’s help. In the sorting system, the AI could find ways to efficiently sort everything and get them arranged to the right place near to where they need to be delivered. As delivery address could be different every day, and also the number of parcels and mail varies, AI could help to figure out a route to deliver them all, as well as how to do so. This system could benefit a wide range of different needs, from residential postal service, to business parcel that requires quick delivery. The reason I think this would be the most realistic invention is that the kind of AI technology that it requires is actually not that hard to make, in fact, some countries are already trying to apply this to their postal system. The only safety issue that it has is the way it would store the personal data, which might bring security concerns to citizens. But I think with regulations and development on security work, this concern could be easily solved.
